The Spanish Lycee “Luis Buñuel" is a Secondary Education School which depends of Spain’s Education Ministry through the Education Office at the Spanish Embassy in France. It provides education for Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate (Post-Compulsory Secondary Education). It also offers the possibility of further studies of International Commerce (equivalent to BTS + 2 in the French system).
Spanish language is mandatory in all levels (which include reinforcement and further knowledge split classes), and is privileged in use of all the subjects (except modern languages). The same applies to the teachings of French Language and Civilization, equally mandatory in all levels, with a higher number of class periods and split classes according to level of mastery. All students also study English in all the different levels and classes.
The history of the Spanish Lycee “Luis Buñuel" (so named since 2005) of almost four decades can be referred to as an exponent of French and Spanish educational and cultural relations.
